Finally we have Ann and Chelsey. Jay asks Chelsey why she's clutching the side of her dress with an angry fist. Chelsey explains that she's not sure if she's wearing the dress correctly, and if she lets it go the seams get all fucked up. To be honest, the dress doesn't look so bad, and Chelsey should fake that it's the most awesome thing she's ever seen. Jay agrees with me, and tells her that she needs to sell it with confidence. Jay likes Ann's ensemble, even though she looks like Elvira from the Wild West. Chelsey is upset with Ann. She says that she put a lot of time and thought into choosing Ann's outfit, but Ann seems to have put in absolutely no effort for Chelsey's ensemble. Honestly, I think that Ann means no malice but is just kind of clueless about this stuff. And you can't fall into choosing a great Grammy dress for someone the way you can fall into a great broken down doll pose when you're 6'2" and naturally hunched.
Jay gives the girls their critiques. Kayla spoke up right away and flirted a little, and thus stood out a bit. Liz was honest about saying that she didn't get what she asked for but still rocked the pants, and she looked the part. Kendal wasn't particularly graceful, and no one wants a fidgety, stumbling Grammy girl. Chris has a great personality and contagious enthusiasm, but looks like a stripper. Jay wonders if Kendal sabotaged her, and Kendal vehemently denies this in an interview. Esther has a very good perspective on what the job is about -- mainly standing in the back and not drawing attention to yourself. Chelsey's irritation made Jay feel uncomfortable, and would likely make an audience feel uncomfortable as well. Jay says that Ann looked great in her outfit. Chelsey is again pissed, since she would like to take credit for dressing Ann so well but Ann gets the kudos, per usual. However, Neil notes that Ann's height might be a distraction, since she'll tower over shorter stars. Ann's frustrated that her height is an issue again, but tells us that she's not going to take drastic measures such as chopping her own legs off. That's good to hear, particularly given the direction the impending Ann meltdown has been going.
