Sophie is first to shoot her Cover Girl commercial, and tilts her head so we all get to look up her nose. Jay discourages this, and as Sophie continues to read the whole thing becomes delightful, particularly in the way that she says "naughty," like Simon who likes to do drawings. Sophie reminds us that she came in second once before, and it's total crap. She wants to make sure it doesn't happen again. We then cut to Laura's photo ad shoot. Jay tells her to always look into the camera, until he tells her not to anymore. He also reminds her that Cover Girl is no longer synonymous with sweet and girly, so he wants her to be herself. There's no need to be the bland vanilla Cover Girl of yore, because the brand is at least theoretically edgier now. The ad is of course for (f)lipstick, and Laura winds up doing this very clenched sort of pursed thing with her lips, which Jay tells her is not flattering. It's like the Hillary-Clinton-during-the-Monica-Lewinsky-years mouth, and no one wants that. Jay expected Laura to knock the shoot out of the park, because she's always so daring in front of the camera. During this shoot, however, she was nervous and self-conscious and not particularly impressive.
Laura tries to pull herself together, but at some point starts feeling very weak and faint. Jez notes that the pressure is getting to Laura, but tells her to remember that they're just taking photos and it's a fun thing. Laura does not look like she's having one bit of fun. As he gives her some direction, Laura starts shaking and sweating and is feeling generally quite sick. Jez tells her to take five, and talks very gently to her to calm her down as she says she's feeling very weird. She's quite embarrassed, and tells us that this is something that she's never before experienced. Laura finishes out the shoot, and Jez is impressed that she manages to come up with some great shots even though she was seriously struggling. Laura walks outside, and we close in on her as things become more dire. She's shaking and having trouble breathing, her vision is blurring and her chest is tightening. Jay comes over to her, and Laura is in such a state that she can't even talk. She lays down on the ground, shaking, and Jay calls for the medic as he tells us that he doesn't know what's triggered this reaction, but it's so severe that she has to go to the hospital. As we see Laura being taken away in a van, we head to commercials.
