The girls meet up with Mr. Jay, who talks up Cover Girl and the $100,000 contract that the winner will receive. Today, the girls will be doing a "Get the Look" online video to help Cover Girls everywhere take their look to the next level. They'll be working with makeup artist Vincent Oquendo. He tells them that they'll be splitting up into three teams of three, and each team will be assigned one kind of look. They'll get a whole range of Cover Girl products to work with, but are supposed to emphasize Cover Girl's Nature Luxe silk foundation. They'll have one hour to consult with Vincent and work with each other to come up with a one-minute presentation. After that, they'll have ten minutes to get their best take. Jay will pick the winning team based on who has the most interesting and informative presentation. The video from the winning team will be posted on covergirl.com.
The girls must choose a card at random from a bowl, and will be designated as talent, director, or writer for the spot. Alexandria gets a "talent" card, and claims that she is psyched that she hasn't been designated as the director or the writer. She would prefer to co-opt those roles in the most irritating manner possible. Alexandria claims Monique and Molly as her teammates, and notes that they are also her roommates. She seems way more excited about this arrangement than either Monique or Molly. Monique explains to us that she's the director and Molly is the writer for their team, and their look is "day casual." Monique hasn't won anything, and would really like to. Sadly for her, Alexandria immediately starts being annoying. While Monique talks about focusing on Alexandria's lips, Alexandria dives into the makeup table and says, "I need to know my products. Because I'm the talent." Please note that this is not the last time you will hear her refer to herself as "the talent."
