Commercials. I wonder how long it'll take for Angel to understand that Wesley's personal agenda always comes before anything else. I mean, they're kind of alike that way, so you'd think Angel would find it easier to anticipate Wesley's reactions.
Illyria stares at the crumpled Knox and reports, "You got bullets in my Qwa'Ha Xahn." Wesley retorts, "You got Qua'Ha Xahn all over my bullets!" And then Angel says, "Kids, you're both right!" Well, it was something like that, anyway. And then they start fighting. Angel and Spicule get tossed around, and Wesley goes to the guns again, yawn. Illyria kicks Knox's body into Wesley, which gets her points for style. Spicule and Angel whirr their swords around without ever hitting Illyria, and finally she grabs one sword blade in each hand and spins, twirling Angel and Spicule through the air. Whee! Illyria tosses the swords away and sneers, "Unimpressive." Wesley, not one to learn from his mistakes, starts shooting again, and Illyria does the hand-wave of super-slo-mo. Angel reaches into his jacket in slo-mo, and suddenly appears next to Illyria at normal speed. "What's the rush?" he quips, and punches her. Illyria tumbles and falls out of her high-speed world. She looks at Angel and asks how he did it. Angel takes out the gem from her sarcophagus and semi-explains, "It's connected to you. I'm connected to it." Illyria concedes, "Sneaky," and kicks Angel's legs out from under him. She knocks Spicule down, and Wesley starts firing again as Illyria makes another hand gesture and opens a portal. She marches through the swirliness, and Wesley dives in after her before it closes up, leaving Angel and Spicule behind.
Wesley crashes to the stone floor of the temple. Illyria stomps up the stairs as she calls back to him that her army (of Doom!) will rise. As she reaches the top of the stairs, she slows to a halt. The camera pulls back to show that the temple has gotten a little crumbly in her absence. She gasps, "It's gone," and falls to her knees. She picks up a handful of dust and lets it sift through her fingers for extra symbolism as she sighs, "My world is gone." Well, maybe she should have been more specific when she named the army. Call it the Army of Other People's Doom, or you're asking for this kind of mix-up. Wesley cocks a gun and points it at Illyria's head, because he's just that stupid, and says, "Now you know how I feel." Oh, shut up, Wesley. Illyria turns to look at him, and then another swirly portal opens. Wesley turns to look at it, and when he turns back, Illyria is gone. But the portal stays open.
