They're interrupted when Gavin Park strolls in for a visit. Cordy coos over his expensive shoes. Wesley tells Cordy that Gavin works for Wolfram & Hart, and Cordy forgets about fashion. Gavin eyes Fred and asks, "New player?" Wesley steps closer to block Fred from view and tells Gavin to "piss off." He's trying too hard to sound tough. Besides, I prefer the time-tested "piss off and die." That's this week's conversational tip; try it at your next cocktail party. Gavin hands Angel a list of "fifty-seven city code violations for your hotel," a copy of which has been filed with the city planning office. Angel asks, "Fifty-seven? Is that a lot?" I assume he's trying to show how unconcerned he is about the violations, but one can't help wondering whether he simply can't count that high. Gavin says he'll be in touch, then leaves. After he's gone, Cordy describes Gavin as a "minion of darkness, Satan's toady...but that is a nice suit." It was, too. Angel notices that Fred is downstairs, and greets her enthusiastically. She agrees that it's nice to be out of her room, and adds, "I've been forkin' with Gunn." Gunn and Angel do nice reaction shots, and ha, I suppose, but what on earth did she mean? "Eating," I guess. We'll never know, since that's when Cordy collapses and begins flailing about in agony as the vision-scope shows us Chinese characters and a hockey puck. Okay, it turns out to be a large coin, but humor me. Cordy calms down and tells the boys that they have to retrieve a coin from "two clawed things" at an herb shop in Chinatown. She heads for the bathroom, and stops to add, "It has a hole in it." The coin, or the plot? Or both?
