Oliver tells Slade he can't blow up the island because it contains Yao Fei. Rescuing him was his mission! Slade doesn't care. Oliver says that Yao Fei saved his life, but Slade figures that's not his problem. Oliver is using his boring gruff voice now, which indicates that the island has transformed him. He says that he used to take people for granted, but he's not that person anymore. He won't leave Yao Fei here to die. Slade says he has three hours to go get Yao Fei and bring him back. Oliver asks Slade to call his family if he gets back without Oliver.
Oliver runs into the jungle. Going right past a jeep, incidentally. I feel like it would be faster to drive. As he runs through the trees, we go back to modern day.
Oliver's heart machine goes BEEEEEEEEEEEP, but Felicity says the lead just wasn't connected to his chest very well. Ha! She picks up his bow and pulls the string back far too easily. She's barely touching it and has no trouble pulling it all the way back. She asks if Diggle's bothered by all the dead people their little operation has caused. Diggle tells a story about when he was in Afghanistan. His convoy was attacked and he shot an 18-year-old in the throat to protect a warlord. And now he feels good about himself again, which I guess is worth all the people that Oliver is murdering every week. Anyway, Diggle says he personally hasn't killed anyone: "Unfortunately, there are always casualties when you're fighting a war." Well, I guess, but you're always killing the minimum-wage guards and then making a point of not killing the super-rich guys they work for.
Oliver catches up to some soldiers on the road, so he hides until they go by. He peeps at a jeep arriving at the camp and then he sees Yao Fei enter a tent. He runs in and finds him at a map. They have a whispery argument in which Yao Fei refuses to go with him. Then Fyers walks in so Yao Fei pops Oliver in the face. Oliver falls and Fyers says it's time he left this island... permanently. Billy Wintergreen (probably; he's wearing the mask. I guess it could be Slade, but it's not.) looms into the shot.
Back at the tower, Slade is on the radio and he tells the plane they're cleared to land. But Oliver's not back! I guess Slade knows how to do all the radio chatter required to let a plane land.
Oliver is shoved into the circle of soldiers. Fyers asks why he's not dead, what with Yao Fei having choked him to death and all. It's a good question, but he's not really interested in the answer. But he'll be fighting Billy Wintergreen instead of Yao Fei. Billy starts by punching Oliver in the face. Oliver taunts him by telling him what he's learned about Billy deserting his country. And he gets beat up some more. Finally, he offers to triple Billy's pay. It's worth a try. After all, being a billionaire is something like a superpower. And then there are explosions that scatter everyone. Slade walks in slowly and he and Billy fight. There are a lot of kicks and swords and knives. Oliver's hiding behind a jeep this whole time. The fight ends when Slade shoves a machete into Billy's eye. That was fun! Then Fyers shoots Slade in the arm and Oliver shoots back with a machine gun and they limp off. I see Oliver already has the superpower where his enemies are mysteriously unable to shoot him. On the way out, Oliver disarms a soldier with that move. But he can't bring himself to shoot, so he pistol-whips him instead. Above their heads, their plane takes off without them.
