She goes back and haltingly says, despite just now confirming how much she loves Ed, that she doesn't know what to think, and she talks about their connection, and she's all teary-eyed again, and this is all for show, and I can't wait for this show to be over I HATE IT SO MUCH, and she tells Reid that she's fallen in love with someone else. "I don't know what to say," says Reid. How about "goodbye"? Try that one on, see how it fits. They stand there holding each other, and Jillian tells him she's crazy about him and loves being with him. You know, all the stuff you hope your fiancée has said to another guy (or, in this case TWO other guys) on the day you propose to her. And then they hug some more, and Jillian is crying, and then they stand there looking at each other, and after two hours Jillian says, "Let's go," and they walk down the pathway, she in a nice dress and he in sneakers.
Reid says it doesn't make sense to him. Yeah, I can't believe she's rejecting you just a couple of days AFTER SHE REJECTED YOU THE FIRST TIME, REID. She tells him it's not easy. Again? Really, it should be. Hmm, let's see: the day I plan to propose to my girlfriend, I get a visit from someone I dated briefly, and she wants to marry me instead. Yep, I think it's easy to say no in that situation. Then I think Reid says he's better than the other guys. And then they hug some more, like GET LOST ALREADY, REID, and Jillian THANKS him for doing this, because she's just that spineless, and they stare at each other, and she puts him back in his taxi, and the piano music is much too emotional for the stupidity of this whole scene. He should be, like, someone playing a kazoo and a tuba and a trumpet going "wah-waaaaahhhh."
Reid says he doesn't have any regrets, coming back and giving it one last chance. "I thought Jillian was somebody who I had such a deep connection with, where it would work no matter what," he says, adding again that it doesn't make sense. He figures he was a little too late, and it's a shame.
So Jillian tells us that watching Reid drive away was "heartbreaking." Just like with Kiptyn! But now she's all excited because Ed's on his way. Just like after Kiptyn! She stands there with her hands on her hips. "Ed better not fucking disappoint me," she says. Classy to the end, Jillian.
