Runway. More slo-mo as Raina makes her grand entrance in Zac's signature dress. Naturally, it's red. Flower petals fall delicately on her at the end of the runway, and she basks in the golden spotlights. The crowd rises to its feet and claps wildly. Credits.
Generic NYC shots reveal what a hip, happening place it is, in case anyone (who's watching this show?) doesn't know already. In a seriously misguided choice, they show one quick cut of a beefed up guy in red tartan pants with his button-down undone to his navel. Straight up Jersey, y'all. We rejoin Raina at a casting call. She looks at a picture of herself from Zac's show plastered across a spread of Fashion Week coverage. Everyone looks at her enviously and chatters cattily amongst themselves. Marissa sits down and tells her to get used to it. But that Raina! She's so down-to-earth with her iPod and her modesty that she didn't even notice that the whole room was talking shit about her. Marissa tells her she's having a moment before being escorted to her go-see.
Raina rolls her eyes and gets up. As she walks to the elevator, Chris darts out of the elevator and crashes into her, knocking down her portfolio. They pick up her pictures and bond over what hapless neophytes they both are. Sonia walks into the waiting area from another elevator and blows past them. Raina looks star-struck, and the camera pans over to a blown-up magazine cover with Sonja on it. Chris asks if Raina knows Sonja. She says kind of.
Sonja storms into the office of Claudia (Elle McPherson) and asks her where she was when the Zac Posen shiz went down. Claudia reprimands her for dropping off the radar for months, saying she's had to do major damage control. Sonja apologizes, but then is distracted by Franco Falcone, who looks more like that creepy guy you see walking in circles on the corner than a famous photographer. Regardless, Claudia tells Sonja that Franco is in town looking for the new face for Versace. Sonja spots another opportunity for her big comeback... you know, since she was too much of a fat-ass to seal the deal on that last one. Marissa spots Sonja and smirks that she's back to doing cattle calls. Sonja and Claudia shake their heads before Sonja walks off, resolved to charm the Versace off of Franco.
And clearly they're good friends. She walks up to him comfortably. He gives her a kiss on the hand. He pulls up a picture of Marissa and says she's his favorite for the campaign so far. Sonja says it's missing something -- her.
