World's Shortest Romance. Jess and Eric lie down on the chairs in the yard and attempt to talk cute. Of course, I'm mostly distracted by how the flood lights in the yard are giving Eric's skin a sickly gray quality, like he ate some bad shrimp earlier. His voice gets all strained and squeaky, which is either his all-purpose "flirty" voice or else he's just trying to match Jessica's vocal pitch so they be operating on the same wavelength, literally. Eric: Flirty, flirty, flirt-flirt. Jess: "Yeah, totally!" (looks away) She "jokes" in the DR that she's going to marry Eric and have his babies. I say "jokes" because the clip is chopped down so tightly, we barely get to see her say it. I'm assuming she's kidding because...come on.
The droning tones of chanting monks must mean it's time for Jameka's Prayer Corner. This week, she's taken to wailing to God at the side of the HOH bed. Nothing quite so good as "Taste God" this time, but you can't expect miracles. Or can you, Jameka? Jess walks in on this scene and thinks Jameka's fallen down and hurt herself. Nope, just praying! Jess is hysterical, not knowing whether it's good or bad that Jameka's weeping on her floor, but mostly trying to get her to not do that anymore. "What are you doing down there, girl??" she squeaks, which totally made me laugh, I'll admit. So Jessica offers Jameka comfort after her traumatic bout of prayer, which...to me, if you need someone to hug you for ten minutes afterwards just so you'll stop weeping, maybe you're doing it wrong. Praying's like sex that way. Jess tells Jameka that even though she may not show it, she's "way into" church. I loved that too: "You may not have known that I'm a churchgoer seeing as I'm not a freak about it." Jess says that she's been quiet about it because there's no church in the BB house and she doesn't feel like she can just make one up on her own. So she's Catholic, I think to myself. And I'm right! J&J attempt to have a deep conversation about the similarities and differences in their respective faiths, but...it's Jess and Jameka, so it stalls out pretty quickly. Almost, girls! Almost a real human conversation!
