Hey, what's that thing that Alby's brought to the state police headquarters? At first glance, it looks like a manila envelope containing all of the evidence he collected in his poisoning case, but as he hands it over to a plainclothes detective, it becomes apparent that it's actually a stick with Roman's eye goop dripping from the end of it. As he presents his case and subtly trash-talks the Juniper Creek Police Department, he can't stop himself from checking out the asses of the State Troopers in their tight uniform pants. The detective seems confused, first that Alby's poisoners brought him to the hospital, then that Alby is bringing this to them when his dad is Roman Grant. At this, Alby asks to have his name kept out of it. "Perhaps you could say it was referred by the hospital." Alby manages to drop a claim that he went to two years of law school, which, if true, should put him in a position to know that the Constitution allows criminals the right to face their accusers. But I guess he's too busy imagining a particularly raunchy episode of Cop Rock in his head to be thinking about that right now.
Nicki's counting up her cash, and she pretends to have screwed up her math before, so that she can now ask Margene for another forty bucks. The younger woman hands it over without a word of protest and the most subtle of pointed looks. It's going to take Nicki a while to get up to $325 at this rate. Nicki seems pretty relieved when the phone rings. But that relief is short-lived, because it's Wanda calling, and she's freaking the fuck out. As Joey sits in the cabin, drinking wine straight from the bottle, Wanda paces in the yard outside and desperately asks for help. She says they have to get away from Juniper Creek, but their car is broken down. Basically, Wanda wants Nicki to come down, pick them up, and put them on a bus to Phoenix. Nicki comes to a decision, and promises to be there in a couple of hours. As she hangs up, Margene eagerly bops over to ask if Nicki is going to the compound. "Why not go somewhere where I'm needed?" Nicki drama-queens. Margene turns on the puppy-dog eyes, prompting Nicki to tell her she can't come along. But then Nicki acts like she's doing Margene a big favor as she warns, "you'll have to put on some clothes." Margene, by the way, is wearing a denim miniskirt and a sleeveless top. And since Nicki's prairie blouse for today is one that doesn't button all the way up to the neck, they look about equally racy. As Margene rushes off to draft Sarah into watching the kids, she asks Nicki if Wanda really poisoned her brother, and why. "You met him," Nicki shrugs. "Now step on it!" Margene rushes out, leaving Nicki to smirk in that way she has when she wants to let us know that this is what she planned all along.
