Sorry I Killed Your Mother. We're Still Buds, Right?

Back at the hotel, Dinah's going all Carrie on Hawke, making shit fly around the hotel room. Hawke tells her this isn't what Canary would have wanted, which only infuriates Dinah more. Helena shows up (that was quick!), but Dinah tells her to stay out of it. Hawke takes advantage of the momentary distraction to scoot away. Dinah tries to go after him, but Helena blocks her way, telling her she'll have to go through her. They glare at each other as we go to commercial.

It sure didn't take long for the American Idol rejects to descend into obscurity, did it? Unless Old Navy commercials are what they want to do, I guess.

Back from commercial, Dinah and Helena are still facing off. Dinah says, "I don't want to hurt you but I will," with all the conviction she can muster, and meanwhile there's some big kitchen knife on the counter that starts rattling and moving. You know, the kind of big kitchen knife you always find lying around hotel rooms. Helena says, "Dinah, you don't have to do this," with all the emotion of a potted plant. "Tell me you wouldn't," says Dinah, asking Helena if she wouldn't do the same thing if Hawke had killed her mother, but Helena can't even do that; she just says, "This isn't the way," and Dinah says, "I want him dead!" and the hotel kitchen knife flies off the counter and slams into the wall between them, nicking Helena. Dinah starts to freak out over what she's done, starting to say, "I tried to kill you!" but Helena soothes her. Jesse, late to the party as usual, runs in: "Where is he?" he says. "Gone," says Helena. "Excuse me?" says Jesse, like, maybe he should get his ears tested, and Helena says, "We'll find him." Reese then notices the knife in the wall and Helena clutching her arm and bleeding, and asks what happened. Helena says that Dinah just got a little upset, and the way they're being cagey about it seems to make Reese think they're talking about a woman thing, and he gets back to freaking out about his dad being gone since they were supposed to be protecting him. "What were you thinking about?" yells the big bad cop at the sixteen-year-old girl, who promptly throws a hissyfit: "I was thinking about my mother! I was thinking about the last time I saw her, the moment he…" and meanwhile she's doing her scrunchie-face thing that always provokes severe eye-rolling in me, and then she just runs out of the room while Reese and Helena look at each other.
