Antidote

Outside City Hall, the recruits are lined up and DI McSweeney orders them to lie down. After they do, he informs them that they're dead because they didn't find the serum and tablets in time. DI McSweeney intones, "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to mourn lack of teamwork." Wouldn't that mean that lack of teamwork had died and so they now have teamwork? I'm just saying.

Night Seven. 2:00 AM. Post Mission. DI Francisco asks Pupo if she knows that she needs "chow with her medication," and informs her that she should have let them know earlier, instead of coming to him at two in the morning. Pupo looks like she's been crying, but maybe it's allergy medication. In an interview, Haar says that Pupo is "snappy" and doesn't give one hundred percent. DI Francisco says that Pupo's attitude has been pissing him off, and tells her that she'll have to take her medication in front of him like a little kid. As she sulks away, he tells her to be pissed off all she wants. In an interview, Pupo says that she thinks she's doing a great job with her attitude, but she understands that her measure for that differs from others. DI Francisco hands Pupo some sort of nutrition bar and orders her to eat. In an interview, DI Francisco says that he doesn't think Pupo expected boot camp to be like this, and that she's "not boot camp material." Pupo sullenly chews on the nutrition bar. DI Francisco goes into the female barracks and tells them not to wake up the next day with "a bunch of little attitudes."

Day Eight. 9:20 AM. Punishment. I'd like to point out that it's only seven hours after they went to bed, and you have to assume that they've already been up a few hours getting ready and eating breakfast. Yuck. DI Francisco explains to the assembled recruits that they could have gotten a beach party, but since they failed the mission, they get to have "our kind of fun." For the drill instructors, "fun" apparently means lots and lots of calisthenics. Push-ups. Running. Bicycle kicks. Lauder yells, "Pain is the weakest thing in the body, sir!" Two hours later, they are carrying sandbags around. Yaney is very sweaty. DI Francisco says, "You're performing to our levels, our standards of boot camp. Not yours." Yaney replies, "Yes, sir!"
