Silver reassures Ian about his prospects and gives him a dose of get real. Liz suggests that Ian talk to Adam about how upset he is—oh, or Chris, who's right there! But Chris can't really help. He tells Ian that as secure as he feels in his position as a principal, he never knows what roles he'll get to dance. This does not make Ian feel better. Across the room, Zach (who, let's not forget, just got a juicy role that many of his peers would fling themselves off the lighting grid for) cattily observes that Ian is still sucking up to Chris.
Zach flops down next to Beckanne and Allison in the rehearsal room. Joshua joins them, although he's unhappy. He asks Allison if he thinks he should go talk to Adam about his role. Allison tells him he can ask what he can do to improve, what he didn't show them in auditions that they wanted to see. Beckanne blames it all on Wendy, who's very specific about the body types she wants playing these roles: she wanted a short Napoleon, dammit!
The dancers go out for post-casting drinks. Ronnie joins them and everyone shrieks, they're so happy to see him. Ronnie once again refers to himself being "an office girl," and I've had enough of Ronnie for tonight. Silver gushes about how funny Chris is as the stepsister. Ian has a television-mandated conversation with Zach about how him getting the bigger role gets him an edge in placement with Ballet West. Chris comes over and sighs about how tired he is of dancer drama. Oh, honey. Come sit by me.
Rex and Josh hang out. Josh strums his guitar and wears thick, black-framed glasses and a stocking cap, as is mandatory for at least one male character on every CW show. Rex reassures Josh about his future with the company: "My first year, I was a goat," he says. At first I think this means he was the object of pity and derision, but no, Rex means he literally played a farm animal. Hee. His eyebrows tell Josh that he's going to be okay. And then Josh strums his guitar and Rex picks out something on the piano and it's very cute.
Coffeehouse: Ian video chats with Allyson, his girlfriend. (In public, Ian? Don't be a savage). She's still in school, which is why they're not living together now. Ian explains the casting disappointment, and Allyson tells him everything is going to work out.
Fairy rehearsal: Beckanne and Allison work with Wendy. Beckanne is lazy and unmotivated, because she says her role isn't technically challenging enough for her. At rehearsal, Zach is still mugging about how excited he is to play Napoleon. Josh is talking to principal Tom (cast A's prince) about his plan to go talk to Adam.
