Much air kissing. A guest flatters Christiana's performance in Emeralds last season, and Chris warmly congratulates Beckanne, whose hair and makeup suggest something in between Lucy Lawless in Xena and Lucy Lawless in Spartacus.

Allison and Adam discuss the pas de deux. Adam, in his gossipy, TV-friendly way, says the number is "so intimate you almost feel guilty watching it. People feel like they're eavesdropping on something private." He calls it great art, and we immediately go to Allison in a talking head saying that the decision to retire is weighing heavily on her. She asks Adam if they can have a meeting tomorrow.

Christiana is talking to the same patron who gushed over her Emeralds performance, and the camera frames Chris just perfectly behind her. She excuses herself and then finds a quiet place to play the exposition fairy with Allison. She's going home to "get her head on straight," she says for the nine thousandth time. This really sounds like something a good chiropractor could take care of. So Christiana leaves the LA party early to go home to her dog and The Ghosts of That Terrible Thing Christopher Did.

Back at the party, Mr. Ruud stares pensively at the sea and in a talking head says he'll always love Christiana, but he has to let her go. Christiana, wearing improbably tall gold heels, chucks her suitcase into the trunk of a taxi, takes a TV-mandated look back at the party, and then is driven away to mouth her clichés ad infinitum.

Rex and Allison amble about the grounds of the mansion. She shivers and he gives her his jacket, even though he's—hilariously—wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt under it. With a vest. Oh, Rex. They proceed to have a manifestly awkward conversation: he tells her she looked wonderful on stage and describes her performance as "soul-searching." She thanks him for being there for her all this time, and she's clearly building up to telling him she loves him, while he's almost holding out his hands to get her to stop talking.

Allison says she was so close to walking away from Ballet West just six weeks ago, but dancing with Rex like she did today is part of the reason she wants to stay. He says he feels the same way and kisses her on the cheek, very adorably. Oh, man, are there some crossed wires here. She turns in to his chest and they hug.

After the party, Rex and Josh go to a bar and do not order anything. Could the producers not even get them a couple of sodas? Jeez. Rex recounts the Allison drama, that she was planning to leave the company, and Josh is all, tell me more of this fascinating tale of which I have heard nothing before! Rex says he's worried about rekindling a romantic relationship with Allison, since, you know, she basically did pirouettes on his heart wearing spiked toe shoes last year.
