Kitty and Robert are preparing to board a plane, Kitty taking this opportunity to hector him about meeting with Courtney. Rob says he has no intention of begging his ex-wife not to tell anyone about an affair he never had. He also tries to hide behind the whole "Americans hate politicians" argument, which is a flimsy one in this case, particularly because America's hatred for politicians and their glee at tearing them down via scandals is at the root of Kitty's argument. Kitty manages to bottom-line it: "You won't survive a sex scandal." Rob asks if she's saying this as a politico or as an angry girlfriend. Once again, I don't get this storyline. How are Kitty's roles as a fiancée and campaign advisor at odds here? Seems to me her girlfriendly impulse to fire back at Courtney coincides exactly with the political advice Rob's getting from Travis, right? What is the point of this? Anyway, Kitty also points out that refusing to engage Courtney on this makes her wonder, in both of her super distinct and contradictory roles, how much faith he has in himself. She ends up making this clearer later on, but just in case you miss what Kitty's actually saying just like Rob currently is, Kitty means: "Your silence is making me wonder if you're not just as guilty as Courtney says you are." Rob and Kitty agree that they hate this situation and board the plane.
