Nora arrives at the café where Ryan works, which somehow looks like an entirely different café from where he was working before, but that's probably just editing. She calls out to him behind the counter and he turns and when he sees who it is he gets the most snotty teenage look on his face. Nora ignores the look (she always does) and sallies forth with her desire to help him after last night's encounter. He glares at her at the mention of his emotional meltdown at the hotel, probably totally regretting confiding in this random mother figure instead of drunk tweeting haikus or something. He tells her to forget last night (Ryan, that's not how you talk to a lady you spent a night with!) and that he can't really talk right now. He may have a point. Can you imagine having Nora follow you around work trying to talk about your emotions? Gah. Nora reminds him that he has five brothers and sisters who all went through the exact same thing that he is going through now. She surprises him with a plane ticket so he can come to Los Angeles and meet everyone. He is truly surprised. She encourages him to come whenever he wants. He considers it. Nora pushes him to come today and he considers it. She tells him the cab is picking her up at ten and if he is up for the weekend trip, he can just jump in and head to the airport with her. Ryan smiles as Nora heads back to the hotel to follow the porter from room to room and try and talk about his feelings.
Rebecca moved up her flight to go deal with whatever. Her dad asks her to call if she needs to talk. The mood is much less tense until she moves to leave and then it is just awkward. She blurts bye, waves abruptly, and leaves.
Holly is at some lawyers' firm. They have done a little digging around and pretty quickly discovered that Omni Inc. was incorporated by Tommy Walker just a few weeks ago. Since the deal is being paid for in shares, as soon as the deal goes through, Tommy will be majority shareholder. Holly realizes that Tommy is going to push her out. She actually looks hurt. And shocked. Which is sort of sad. Did she really think Tommy liked her? Or that he didn't hold a grudge against her for ousting his family from the family business? The lawyer asks for her permission to dig into the transaction.
