Nora is sound asleep when the phone in her hotel room rings. She answers yelling at Saul before the phone is even to her ear. Why is Saul calling the hotel room? Does he want her to have an overpriced bill? I mean in what universe does it cost $2 bucks a phone call. Well, probably in the same universe where it costs $5 for a Twix. Anyway, Saul owes Nora $2 because she undoubtedly has her cell phone sitting right next to her, it being the modern age and all. Nora yells at Saul, but it turns out it is actually Ryan. Ryan looked up the number for the hotel room? Well then he owes her two dollars. Weirder is that Ryan is in the lobby of Nora's bed and breakfast. He is upset and didn't know where to go and instead of just going to get blotto in a dorm room like decent college folk and hopefully shedding a tear and getting laid for being sad and girls are kind of stupid like that, instead Ryan is stone-cold sober and teary-eyed with some old lady in an grannystyle B&B. He can't handle knowing that his mom was a fornicator and lied about his real dad. He thought he and his mom were close, but she kept this from him. I for one am a firm believer in parents keeping all sorts of secrets. For example, I don't need to know where I was conceived. I also don't need to know whether they get enough fiber in their diet. Nor if they have ever had any funguses, parasites, or hidden boils. I don't need to know about their drug use, sexual history, or if preferred style of underwear. I'm a-okay with parental secrets. Ryan, however, is hurt by this. Nora thinks his mom was just trying to protect him, but Ryan doesn't buy it. Nora confesses that she willingly looked the other way in order to protect her family and keep it whole. Nora feels partly responsible for her husband being a cad. She is so sorry for her role in Ryan's situation. Oh shut up, Nora. Your husband was a dick. And the only thing you did wrong was marry him.
