Brody goes to whine to Nora and did he mention that he has five children? Because he has five children. Just like Nora! They are SO meant for each other. Nora laughs like all the impending mayhem is hilarious. Then Brody ominously says, "We're all grown ups," which is laughable at best and a threat at worst. Sarah finds her parents canoodling in the corner and asks them to come out on the dance floor. She wants to see her parents dance at her wedding. I would say Awwwwwwww, but this massive flip flop from irate woman to loving daughter is too much for me. I mean, just last week she told Nora she would never speak to her again if she chose Brody! Oh, whatever, show. So Sarah and Luc dance to Elton John and the whole family follows them onto the dance floor and it is touching and sweet. Then Tyler shows up and apologizes to Justin for the mixed signals she's been sending. She doesn't care about her reputation, she just wants to dance with him. Justin is just dumb/horny/immoral enough to fall for it. Even though she didn't say she was divorcing her husband or anything. Everyone dances: Kitty with Jonathan, Brody with Olivia, Saul with Daniel, then the music slowly changes to Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" and all the adults pretend they are super excited to dance to it. Well, they probably are, but because they think it's Madonna's "Express Yourself." Only Nora has the decency to excuse herself from the dance floor. As she watches her new happy blended family shaking their tail feathers, we fade back into her radio program. She talks about how happy she is and how it wasn't what anyone had in mind, but they are a family and then she is reminded of a George Eliot quote about how "it's never too late to be what you might have been."
With that the show draws to a close. Everyone's happy, except Seth, but he's in the thrall of teen angst, which is an odd place for this show to be. Brody and Nora are going to make it work. Sarah and Luc are a happy family. Scotty and Kevin have not one, but two kids. Saul is getting married to Jonathan. Tommy has disappeared. It's just so perfect. But there are those four new siblings out there ...
Melissa Locker a.k.a. Lulu Bates may have teared up at one point during the show, but it may have been from laughter. You can follow her on Twitter @woolyknickers
