Previously, Sarah quit Ojai, Saul quit Ojai, and Rebecca started at Ojai. Scotty and Kevin are together forever despite how Scotty's parents feel about it. Holly commissioned a report on Ryan Lafferty and Rebecca found it. And Nora sold all the family mementoes. Except the monkey.
Justin and Rebecca kiss hello, but they are stopped mid-smooch by the steaming notStarbucks in Justin's hands. Rebecca pulls him into her apartment because she really needs to talk to him. She has him sit down, which makes him nervous. Rebecca pulls out the Ryan Lafferty file that she found in her mom's office. Justin can't believe what he is seeing -- Holly has nothing to do with the Ryan situation! It's Nora's call. He wants to run off and tell Nora immediately, but Rebecca begs him to give her some time. She wants to see if her mom will confess if pressed. They are trying to build trust, after all. Justin scoffs that trying to build trust with Holly is like trying to build an ice cream castle with a bovine. Yeah, okay, I made that up and it doesn't make sense, but you know what I'm getting at. Rebecca snaps at him to lay off her mom a little, but Justin doesn't want to hear it, because if Holly talks to Ryan and Nora finds out, she is going to have a meltdown. Rebecca gets up to leave, sniping that Justin of all people should understand about making amends. Zing?
Kevin is zipping around the apartment looking for his transcripts. Does anyone know if Scotty has been stricken with some incurable disease that requires him to be on the couch at all times? Because homeboy has been on the couch for the last four episodes and it's getting downright peculiar. Maybe the actor had an accident and the writers are trying to play it off. Like when an actress gets knocked up and they only shoot her from the neck up. Scotty is ignoring Kevin and is reading aloud a guidebook to the sites around L.A.; his conservative Republican parents are coming to visit tomorrow and he wants to make sure they have a good time. Kevin is still looking for his files and won't pay attention to Scotty until he finds them. Scotty begs him to focus. His parents boycotted their wedding and are now coming to visit. He's nervous and wants Kevin's attention on the matter. Kevin finds his files, apologizes, and takes a seat. They need a hotel room and Kevin offers to book it. They didn't book a hotel room yet? What are they, crazy? Kevin also agrees to get a bottle of bourbon for Scotty's dad. Scotty also wants a signed photo of Kitty for his mom and Kevin snarlingly agrees. Scotty tells him to meet him and his parents at the restaurant at seven. Kevin gets wide-eyed at the thought of dinner at seven. I mean, that's when old people eat! Scotty looks suspicious. Kevin knows they are going to name the new partner at the fancy pantsy cocktail party. He also knows it is going to be him and he has to be there! Scotty is hesitant because his mom made the reservation at the restaurant weeks ago and is dying to sit on their patio. She made a restaurant reservation, but not a hotel one? As if. Besides, Kevin thought they were naming the new partner last week. Kevin pleads and Scotty agrees to move the dinner to nine, but only on the condition that Kevin will keep the PDA to a minimum. Kevin looks shocked and Scotty is humiliated for asking, but his parents are so conservative and he wants them to feel comfortable. Kevin agrees, but not without laughing at Scotty. Just a little.
