Sarah is not adjusting well to her life of housewifery. Cooper and Paige are on her last nerve and if she has to do one more load of laundry or remove one more stain, she's going to give Heloise some hints on getting footprints off her ass. Amid the chaos, the phone rings. It's Nora. She desperately needs Sarah's help with her grant presentation. Cooper kicks a soccer ball through a window and Sarah hangs her head. She can't help Nora, she can't even help herself!
Kevin is begging Kitty to come to dinner. She is halfway out the door and The Senator has an early meeting. Kevin pleads. He says that for his Republican in-laws, meeting the famed McAllisters would be like the time China sent pandas to Nixon. Kitty stops. She loves Pandas. They are delicious! She agrees. Kevin asks her to bring a signed photo, too. She can't believe him. If he asks for one more favor he has to take the job with The Senator! Kevin says thanks but no thanks and hangs up the phone.
Sarah heads into a meeting with her headhunter. She calls him Calgon and begs him to take her away. He can't believe she is so flexible now, what happened to minimal commute time? She's ready for time away from the kids. She was born ready. He hands her a piece of paper with a job opening. It's at a water company and they are looking for a regional director of something vague. She looks skeptical until she gets to the salary, then she looks confused. Is that the quarterly salary? Her headhunter laughs. Sarah has been unemployed for an entire month and she expects to have equal pay when she goes back to work? Ha ha! Not in this job market, toots! Who cares if you're a Wharton grad and a former CEO of a multimillion-dollar company, I'm your headhunter and I'm telling you to stop being so darn picky! So what if this job pays less than half your former salary? You, little lady, need to stop being a job snob. He tells Sarah that he has five clients who are perfect for that job and he is going to start going down the list if she doesn't decide by the weekend. Instead of telling him to suck it, she nods and agrees to think about it. Sarah? Fire that man.
Rebecca sneaks the Ryan Lafferty file into Holly's desk drawer seconds before Holly comes into the office. As Rebecca leaves to go fulfill some small task for Holly, Tommy interrupts her departure. He is not going to be able to make the planned vineyard trip with Holly because he has a "long standing dinner" with Saul. Was that longstanding before or after he quit Ojai? And wasn't Saul not even speaking to him last week? And in fact fled the room the second Tommy showed up? Continuity, people! Holly crosses her arms in irritation. This trip to Ojai has been on the calendar for months and Tommy cancels now? For dinner? With Saul? Holly doesn't want to make some random design decision by herself. Tommy tells her to take Rebecca who apparently has a great design sensibility. Holly can't believe Rebecca appreciates Tommy fobbing off his work onto her, but Rebecca is happy to do it. Holly is pleasantly surprised that Rebecca wants to spend time driving up to Walker Landing with her. Oh you're surprised that Rebecca would rather drive up to a vineyard than file all day? I guess Holly's never been a temp.
