Previously on Brothers & Sisters, all sorts of stuff came to light at a family dinner, including but not limited to Tommy and Julia's dual affairs, Justin's continued shtupping of Lena, and Nora's googly-eyed crush on Isaac. Also, some time later, Kevin 'fessed up to Scotty that Jason "Reverend Boyfriend" McCallister was coming back to L.A. Here's where, were Kevin being played by Julia Roberts or Kate Hudson, he'd hatch some wacky scheme to juggle both boyfriends. ...Actually, there's still about a 50/50 chance that he'll do just that.

We begin with Nora cuddled up on her couch with a blanket and a rapidly emptying bottle of wine. We don't know for sure that she's flipping back and forth between CNN and Rock of Love 2, but let's assume. She's calling Kitty to ask after Isaac, who hasn't called her since the fateful Dinner of Secrets. Kitty's in a limo driving down some deserted stretch of highway in Cornfield, Iowa, with Travis sneezing and snorfling alongside her. With everybody else in the continental U.S. either getting over their cold/flu or just now settling into it, I'll give props for the timeliness of the reference. Nora thinks it sounds like the apocalypse over the phone, but being Republicans, Kitty and Travis can rest easy in the knowledge that the end of the world will come not by plague or environmental catastrophe but rather when Jesus descends an escalator of fire and lays waste to the Muslims, Jews, and Liberals. Kitty grouses and bitches about Travis spreading disease across the breadth of the heartland, while Travis blames the poor Iowans for infecting him in the first place, before chugging enough NyQuil to knock out an ox. Kitty admonishes him to stop drinking so much, but Nora thinks the comment was directed at her, and she defensively says she hardly drinks at all.

Kitty, who's been on the campaign trail so long that blatant lies no longer effect her, just barrels forward, assuring her mother that Isaac is busy campaigning and that's why he hasn't called. Nora sad-sacks that Kitty doesn't have to make excuses for her benefit, but Kitty tells her to snap out of it, head on down to the campaign office, and ask Isaac out to lunch. Nora, through a mouthful of chips (Ruffles and wine: for that classy evening alone with your celibacy), says that's way too forward for her. Kitty's like, "The man was there for our 75th family meltdown, I think he's beyond 'forward.'" This allows Kitty to segue into asking about Tommy and Julia, but Nora doesn't know anything beyond the fact that Justin is still sleeping with Lena (which Kitty already knows). Nora's pretty disgusted by the whole thing, while Kitty wonders aloud if Lena isn't "wishing Kevin were straight so she could go for the whole Walker trifecta," earning a sideways glance from Travis and his phlegm. Kitty lies that they're at their destination, so she has to go (Travis: "No we're not"), and repeatedly orders Nora to call Isaac. After she's hung up, Travis says he has "so many questions" about the conversation he's just overheard, but then he sneezes and blows himself and Kitty clean out of the rest of this episode.
