Buffy holds back tears on the porch as she struggles into her jacket. The front door opens, and Faith is the only one to have followed her. Faith wants Buffy to know that she didn't want things to happen this way and Buffy, crying, says, "Don't." Faith protests, but Buffy continues, "Don't be afraid to lead them. Whether you wanted it or not, their lives are yours. It's only going to get harder. Protect them." She turns to Faith: "Lead them." Faith nods and goes back inside. Buffy sadly walks away from the house. Was I supposed to be touched by her high-mindedness in giving advice to Faith there? Because I wasn't. That melodramatic noble-suffering crap didn't do much for me.
