Quick cut to the basement. It's flying Bringers everywhere. Andrew films. Dawn's stunt double grapples with Buffy. Two of the Bringers scuttle away while the others lie dead on the floor. Buffy pulls out the knife and advances on Andrew, saying, "It's your turn, Andrew." They begin to circle the glowing seal. Andrew wants to know if he should stand on the Seal of Danzig while holding the knife and talk to it or what. Buffy purrs, "It doesn't really make sense, does it? Bringing you here to talk to it?" Buffy goes on to say that the Seal only understands the language of blood. In fact, the blood of the person who woke it is the only thing that will close it. Andrew, starting to get scared, asks, "How…how much blood?" "Maybe not enough to kill you," is Buffy's reply. Andrew responds with one of his typical detached-from-reality soliloquies: "So this is my redemption at last. Buy back my bruised soul with the blood of my heart." Buffy suddenly screams as him, "Stop telling stories! Life. Isn't. A. Story." She admonishes him for making "everything into a story so no one is responsible for anything -- because they're just following a script." Well, Spike's got his whole "the First Evil made me do it" story, and Willow has her "dark and evil addiction that wasn't really addiction made me do it, and did I mention I'm weally, weally sowwy" story, and I don't see how those are much different from Andrew's situation. "Please don't kill me," pleads Andrew. "Warren said Jonathan would be okay. I trusted him and I lost my friend." "You didn't LOSE him," yells Buffy, "you murdered him!" Andrew's eyes begin to well with tears. He snivels, "You said we could all get through this." Buffy: "I'm making it all up. What kind of hero does that make me?" One with an incredibly bad team of scriptwriters, dear. I'd look into that if I were you. Buffy points out that that people are going to die soon. "Girls. Maybe me. Probably you. Probably right now!"
