Amy and Kennedy are still in the UC Sunnydale classroom. Kennedy asks why Amy cast the spell on Willow, and Amy belts her across the room with some magic. Go Amy! I like your style. But instead of just stalking off in villainous victory like she should, Amy succumbs to the clichéd bad-guy's need to indulge in self-explanatory exposition. She claims to have cast a "penance malediction" on the Willster -- a type of hex. Kennedy wants to know why Willow took the form of Warren and why it happened after smoochies. Amy's very amused at this tidbit of gossip and says Kennedy must be a good kisser, but since I only remembering seeing close-ups of her forehead during the kiss, we'll never know. We'll also never know why Amy thinks it must have taken a good kiss to trigger the hex, since she doesn't explain anything more about it except that it "lets the victim's subconscious pick the form of their punishment." Recapper say wot? Excuse the fuck out of me, but is this not the same plot that I already saw once this season, back when it was called "Same Time, Same Place"? Willow's feelin' guilty? Check. Willow's subconscious punishes her by basically obliterating her existence? Check. I've almost gotten used to the fact that every episode this season seems to be a retelling of an episode of one of the earlier seasons, but I'm just not ready to start strip-mining Season Seven when it's barely half over. The Department of Retro would like to warn the writers that they are running out of past to recycle.
