Faith and Giles are in Buffy's bedroom. They consult a map, and Faith decides the attack will be at "7:00 sharp." I guess they're hoping that Ultimate Evil isn't an early riser. Giles wishes her goodnight and then tells her, "Faith, you're doing just fine." Who the hell is this supportive guy? He reminds me of someone I used to know...oh, that's right! Not-A-Prick Giles. Real Giles. Guys, I'm really, really torn here. Either Giles is dead and this is evil Giles, and we'll find out in the next two episodes that we've been watching evil Giles almost all season, and I'll have to mourn Real Giles, or this is real Giles and we'll find out nothing about him in the next two episodes, meaning he's just been freakish and wrong all season. And I'll still have to mourn Real Giles. Either way I'm sad, but I can't decide which nuance of sad will be better. Sigh. Giles leaves, and Faith heads for the bed. She runs into an old friend, though -- the Mayor.
