Having dropped the act like the proverbial hot potato, Michael forcefully enters Scott's office and says he talked with Dennis Barfield. Scott plays ignorant, poorly, and Michael yells at him about the innocent people who got in the way. Scott, without admitting anything, gives the name Walt Renson as a next target, and gives him an address to get to before five o'clock. Michael says Scott will need to confess when this is over. "Why would anyone ever confess to anything when there's a fifth amendment?" Scott wonders, taking a pretty thinly veiled shot at The Closer. He says he'll have an immunity deal by the end of the day. "Not from me, you won't," Michael threatens.
Michael and Sam are staking out Walt's place. You might recall that Walt was Alicia's brother from before. There are goons pacing around the yard, and while Michael and Sam are trying to figure out how to get in there -- you know, where the bomb is -- he gets a call from Dennis. Who's calling not his fan Gordon Lutz, but Michael Westen. Michael makes his voice as deep as he can as he agrees that they haven't met. Dennis demands ,"Why would you and this partner of yours, Miss Glenanne, get in the middle of my plans? It's such a mistake!" And yes, Dennis is calling from Scott's place, pacing over the bodies of Scott and his goon as he says he decides who gets let off or not. And speaking of Scott, "He's dead. Want to guess who's next?" I have a short list.
