Once You Go Black, You Never Go Back

...while back at the apartment complex, Chuck moans that when he and Sarah get back from a rough mission, they order a pizza and play a board game to unwind, and then asks Morgan if they recorded The View. Heh. Morgan, however, stammers that he and Casey were just talking about playing a good board game, and to his credit, Casey goes along with nary an eye-roll or a growl, although he can't keep his voice from cracking a bit. Chuck makes a face like he doesn't buy this for one minute... then brightens and enthusiastically is like, "Great!" Don't ever change, kid.

Mary can't believe what Volkoff just did, given that he was the only one that knew about Hydra, but Volkoff corrects her -- Yuri was Hydra. To clarify, he starts rooting around in Yuri's left eye socket, and although you don't see any guts, the sound effects alone are not exactly for the squeamish. Amusingly, Sarah cranes her neck for a closer look, but soon Volkoff's got what he was after - a fake eyeball that, when he inserts it into a projector on his desk, displays a holographic database he tells them is the way he communicates with his people. "None of them knows each other. None of them are aware what part they play in my puzzle. Hydra allows me to see everything." Well, everything except that one square meter on the grounds, you mean. Volkoff goes on, however, that it has a flaw -- human error -- and picks up a heavy paperweight from the desk and smashes it. A component of the interior, however, falls right by Mary's foot, and she moves her toe to cover it as Sarah asks if the database is really destroyed. Volkoff, however, laughs and says he just transferred the data to a more secure backup location, and then tells Sarah that she did well, but they have one more issue to take care of. He adds that the jet's waiting and starts to head out, giving Mary a chance to pocket the Hydra piece, but then remembers Yuri's corpse and heads into the hall: "Phyllis! Cleanup!" Heh.

The boys are doing pizza, beer and Risk, and Casey, you will not be surprised to learn, is winning, but he then gets a text from Sarah summoning him to the ninth floor of the Trident Tower -- alone. Chuck wonders why she didn't use the secure line, which is a fair point indeed, but Casey brushes that aside and says that Volkoff, who knows Chuck by sight, must be in the vicinity, so he has to go alone. He promises to stay in contact...
