Two Girls, One Chuck

Control room. Chuck gives Casey the counteragent and asks how much time Sarah and Agent Superman have left. Casey tells him not to worry; he needs to open the vault and get Hannah out. Chuck says there's not enough time to save them, is there? Casey tells him to focus, even if they are lost, because there's a civilian in there. Chuck goes to work on the computers, and Casey heads out. Oxygen level hits zero, but Chuck gets the vault open. Just then, Agent Superman carries Sarah in and Casey hands them the counteragent and goes to release the curator. Sarah and Agent Superman take the counteragent, then she thanks him and they cuddle up on the floor right there. Chuck runs through, headed toward Hannah. He stops briefly to watch Superman cuddle his girl, but then goes on to Hannah. He wakes her up and tells her she somehow got trapped in the vault. She says she could have died, and thanks him for saving her life. He starts to explain why he was acting weird the other night, but she tells him to forget it, and hugs him. Then we get a shot of the two cuddling couples, which cuts to Vasillis peeking around a corner to see Agent Superman and Sarah. Ominous! Commercials, including celebrities refereeing marriages (I guess; I don't get the concept of the show). Just what every marriage needs, right? Because celebrities tend to have such successful ones.

Castle. Team Bartowski plus Agent Superman, who tells Chuck he owes him one. Chuck tells him to come on, "Just because I saved your life. Twice. Don't mention it." Agent Superman says it wasn't just his life, and looks at Sarah. Casey tells Chuck he also helped secure a rogue chemical weapon. Chuck says he has a great team, which brings them to their next point of business. Agent Superman, Casey, and Sarah tell Chuck that the Intersect was designed for agents to work autonomously, so they're his training wheels, and his performance on this mission shows that it's about time for them to come off. Casey hopes he's ready for his "big boy bike, Bartowski." Alliteration! Chuck's on his way out, when Sarah stops him and tells him she hopes he's okay. Then she says that Agent Superman is right: At some point, she'll be standing in his way. "And not just professionally." He asks if she's sure she's okay with the whole Hannah thing, and she tells him (or pretends) that she shouldn't have said anything, because Hannah's great and they're cute together. Chuck says that's how he feels about Sarah and Agent Superman: "You two are perfect together. It's disgusting. In a heartwarming kind of way." Chuck says that Agent Superman carried her out of Castle on his back when they were both dying, so if he has to see her with someone else it might as well be a hero. Sarah: "What can I say? I have a type." She looks like she might cry as they say goodbye, and when he walks away, she actually looks heartbroken. So, see, I can see this being a huge sacrifice on her part, to make him think she's moved on so that he can let himself move on. That said, I don't have any more problem with Sarah hooking up than I do with Chuck, but if she can date another agent or whatever, why can't it be Chuck? Does that make any sense at all? Josh Schwartz & Co.: Are you out there? If so, you've got some 'splaining to do.
