Mauser tells Chuck what a good job he's done, and then Chuck flashes on Mauser's watch. He sees a gun, and the word "Fulcrum." Uh-oh. After the flash, Mauser tells Chuck not to worry about it, because everything will be just fine. Mauser says he'll take it from here, but Chuck insists he'd like to talk to Ned, and put him at ease before Mauser takes over. Mauser lets him, and Chuck gets to Ned and starts whispering that Mauser's not a good guy and that they can't trust him. He asks Ned to let everyone out of the store right now. Ned says he can't let everyone out, because then he wouldn't have any bargaining chips. Chuck tells Ned that the people he was talking about earlier work for the government and will do anything to protect him, which is the only bargaining chip Ned needs. Mauser starts walking over, as Chuck's begging Ned to trust him. Mauser says he'll take over and Chuck walks off.
Outside, Sarah and Casey approach the SWAT team and they are quickly told that Ned doesn't have a wife. Sarah and Casey take off running to the OOSSL. They look it up and see there isn't any record of Ned being married. They look up who Ned might have been speaking to when he made the call.
