The Amateur Investigation Hour

Meanwhile, Skye heads to work at Inner Show's production offices. She chats with cute coworker Peter about the latest news, which is that the network exec from last week never showed up for his meeting. She sits down at her desk, only to immediately log into a fan site. "You still on this kick about the fans?" Peter asks. "There are all kinds of people out there," Skye says, "and the ones who watch this show seem to have some kind of sick connection to what we're doing." Peter metas, "A show's got to have an edge these days to break out." He points out that none of this has anything to do with her job, but he seems pretty nice about it, which means he's probably evil.

Shifty has left Fandomain and headed to her second job, which is being totally insane. She has the network exec at a sound stage, bound by cling crap and surrounded by animal carcasses. "I understand," she says to someone on the phone. "I'll do whatever you ask." Someone dressed like Billy Grimm watches this all from nearby, but his face is never shown. Shifty gives the exec a big kiss, but he can't kiss her back because his lips are sewed shut. "Do a good job on him," she says to the Grimm guy.

Skye and Jeff meet up at the trailer park where Miriam lived with her husband. As they make their way through the park, Jeff shows Skye the video message he got. It turns out Jeff signed onto the show's official site and the message is something all fans get. Skye lightly teases him about it, like she has any room to talk with her, "Oh, no, there are websites out there... with links!" from last week. When they find the husband, he's packing up his things to leave. They press him about Miriam and the show, but he's not in the mood to talk. He comes out of his house with a shotgun. "What are you so afraid of?" Jeff asks. "Just tell me what you know." The guy just shouts and advances on them, never lowering his gun. Jeff takes his sweet time leaving. Maybe he doesn't know what guns are for?

He and Skye head over to the police department to talk to the grumpy detective. For a second, Jeff thinks he sees Kelly from Inner Show, but it's just some random blond woman. They're such a rarity in L.A. that it's hard to blame him. They catch up to the detective just as she's taking something off her car's windshield, so that we can see her sleeve ride up to expose her Sekrit Tattoo. She should really invest in longer sleeves, or Dermablend. "Detective Sakelik," Jeff calls out to her. It sounds for all the world like he's saying "sack lick," which is just... awful. He and Skye tell her about confronting the widower and being on the business end of his shotgun. Sakelik totally blows them off.
