The bar. Joey and Audrey are rocking out to the band. "God, I love college! Why would I ever want to leave all this?" Audrey screams. Joey's like, because you're going to have to pay back all your loans. Loans the likes of which Joey wouldn't even consider taking out. But Audrey will "have none of that." She wants to lead a "reckless, irresponsible life of fancy." And speaking of that, she thinks one of the guys in the band is hot, hot, hot! I'm going to fast-forward over this part where they stare at Charlie and he stares back and Joey tries to remember how she knows him. Because it takes twenty minutes. Audrey's like, you have to find some way to meet that guy! "How about I go up to him and say, 'Aren't you Charlie, the guy who dicked over Jen?'" Joey asks. You can say "dicked over" on TV now? Wow. ["That's kind of cool. But yeah, Pacey called Gretchen's ex a dick last season so I guess it's come-as-you-are with 'dick' now. I mean…oh, forget it." -- Sars] Anyway, Audrey's all shocked. And then she says Jen has good taste in men. Um, except for Dawson. And Henry. And, yeah, almost every guy we've ever seen Jen go out with, ever. Then Audrey wonders if the band remembers the time she got up and sang with them, and Joey is sure they do, and then Audrey goes to talk with them about doing it again. She leaves, and Pacey arrives. "So, this is where all the beautiful and smart girls hang out," he says. Joey turns to him with a huge grin. "You got my message?" she asks cheerfully. "I did. Four-point-oh. I'm sure you'll do better next semester, Jo," he says, poking her playfully. Joey chuckles and tells him she's glad he came out. Pacey admits that he has to celebrate. Because of the promotion and all. Joey, thrilled, high-fives him. And then they turn around to see Audrey onstage with the band, lip-synching (badly) to "Son of a Preacher Man" and wiggling her ass all over the stage. Pacey chortles and shakes his head. "How did we ever get through high school without that girl?" Pacey wonders. Joey just shakes her head.

Cue much lip-synching and smiling. At one point, Pacey sings along enthusiastically. Could he be cuter? I'm asking you this seriously.

Casa Leery, where Jen helps Gale put up the baby gate. They talk about Dawson and how deeply and completely wonderful he is and how sad it is that he's not moving forward with his life by going to school and drinking of the well of knowledge and whatnot. "He seems to be moving forward with parts of his life just fine," Gale snits with a raised brow. "Which you're not entirely pleased about," Jen obviouses. "Am I that transparent?" Gale wonders, not knowing that someone as tan as she is can never be transparent. "Everything is really nice between us, Gale," Jen offers weakly. She adds that she's "crazy about him," and just wants him to be happy. "Then we want the same things," Gale says. They blather about college and Grams's attic and the set-up which paves the way for Dawson's return to the show fulltime and my corresponding despair. Anyway, Gale wants to know if Jen's talked to Dawson about this, and she says that she's "danced around it." Gale shakes her head; Dawson is like the Flash, she says -- stubborn. "Trust me," she says, "you're going to have to push him." They smile at each other. Dawson Leery: Bringing faithless hussies of all generations together.
