Airport. Jen and Dawson. He's "being honest" with her about the parents. "Being honest," by the way, is merely a euphemism for "being a Nosy Parker pain in the ass." And yes, it's every bit as irritating and tiresome as it sounds. Jen finally informs Dawson, rather nicely, that his honesty is "a problem." Dawson's brows race to the top of his skull. "Me being honest with you is a problem?" he yelps. "If it involves me having to go see my parents, then yes, it is," Jen says. "I'm sorry, Jen, I just don't accept that," Dawson announces. Jen doesn't tell him he's being a complete jackass, but instead asks him to let it slide. He can't, he says. "Yes, you can," Jen says. Dawson flares his nostrils. "No, I can't, Jen, because I love you and I care about you and I know that deep down you really want to work things out with your parents. I know that because you told me," he reels off. Jen squeezes out a pained smile. I start banging my head against the wall. We were doing so well this year, Dawson! You were basically non-irritating for almost half the season. And now, all that hard work -- undone. Once again, I want to watch the vultures rip apart your rotting carcass. "Great, so now the things I told you while we were together are going to be used against me?" Jen asks. Jen, I'm sure the fact that you were together at all will be used against you at some point. Possibly in court. Dawson self-righteously insists that Jen is "never going to grow up unless [she faces] this thing and [faces] it head on." Jen looks away from him. "I agree with you. I do," she says. "Then you're going," Dawson announces. "No, I'm not. Not everyone is as strong as you, Dawson. Not everybody can rise to the occasion and do the right thing all the time. Maybe some of us are just screwed up and there's nothing anyone can do about it," she tells him. Dawson doesn't think she really believes that. She shrugs. "Maybe I do. Maybe I don't. It doesn't really matter." Dawson informs her that it matters to him. Jen has no reaction, although Michelle Williams's expression screams, "Get me off this show now, please! Please! I'll do anything!" "Just do me a favor," Dawson asks. "Lie, and tell me you'll think about it." Jen looks down at her shoes and smiles ruefully. "I'll think about it," she says.
