JOANNA PROBLEMS
Joanna: "I can't come to the phone right now, I have been abducted. Leave a message."
Will: "Joanna, pick up the phone! I found the Lyritrol files Vivian had with her, so I think the Russian Mafia killed her. Which still doesn't explain why Ben would be calling them in the first place, but..."
Joanna: "Mob guy, that phone call was pretty important. Why don't you take this suitcase full of a half-million dollars and we can call it even!"
It was a fake-out! She distracts her kidnapper with the money, then flips the car over so they are both unconscious. Good one, Joanna! When they both wake up, after the commercial, they go running through an apocalyptic wasteland and he shoots at her a million times. I know that we know why this is happening, but it's still funny to think about it from an administrative assistant perspective.
"Well, sir, I was running that errand, and then all of a sudden I was kidnapped by the Russian Mafia and had to go running through a bunch of quarries and abandoned buildings. I am afraid the company car was totaled and I lost a half million dollars in the scuffle. Also, I did not pick up your drycleaning." Like, no amount of "But I picked up Starbucks on the way back" is going to help that story.
AUDREY PROBLEMS
Audrey is super sad about Julian get slapped by that lady, because it is the worst thing that has ever happened, but then she has a flashback: Turns out she approached Ben Preswick in the first place, because they went to school together. She made fun of him for being a dork in love with Vivian Bowers -- and then offered to employ him as an inside man in the Bowers IT department!
So is Audrey looking all dour and morose because she planted the death documents in the first place, and there's nothing wrong with Lyritrol at all? Because that would be AMAZING. Especially if whoever's behind Vivian's death killed her for other reasons anyway. What a shitshow that would be! "Dear Russian Mafia, false alarm. Please stop killing everybody on this show, it was just some harmless corporate espionage and a couple crossed wires. My bad."
