The next day, Liam and Dylan are literally neck deep in files. Hart stops in to chide/praise them for their "stomach flu" ploy with Kevin. Their research has led to a report from the coroner that says there was no way the victim was walking around after that blow to the head. The attack happened in the alley where he was found and Dylan's found a gun shop across the street that has a security camera. They might have video of whoever attacked the victim. Hart heads out, telling them to tidy up their office. Dude, they have more important things to do right now. Like, you know, go to the jail, which is exactly what they do. They find out that Kevin wasn't taken to the infirmary after all, because the pain didn't last. Moreover, the ADA brought over the plea agreement and he signed it. The guard gives them Kevin's new prison address.

At the office, Malcolm has some paperwork for Addy. He calls her "Adelaide." Aw. He notices she's distracted. Addy admits to being confused about Jason. Malcolm suggests she tell Jason how she feels, but she's hesitant. He's already got a job lined up and everything. "Just be straight with him," Malcolm says. Then there's some cute banter between them, but I can't concentrate because Malcolm's chest has hypnotized me. Addy calls him a doofus, affectionately. A doofus with pectorals you could chisel marble with.

Liam and Dylan bring security pictures to the ADA. The victim was seen arguing with his wife and another man, not Kevin. The time stamp on the picture shows him alive after the fight with Kevin. They want the ADA to support their motion to vacate Kevin's guilty plea. "You know it's the right thing to do," Liam says. The ADA thinks it over, then agrees to talk to her boss. Liam and Dylan smile adorably. Meanwhile, Beth and Malcolm are back at the office, "outsmarting" Cliff and Susan by making dinner reservations. By the time that's done, Liam and Dylan are visiting Judge Joan in her chambers and supply her with their evidence. She's unmoved. She wants a picture of someone other than Kevin hitting the victim. She's all steel and hard edges about sending the wrong message to criminals if she lets him back out of his plea. I think this woman eats kitties for breakfast and then brushes her teeth with their bones. She denies their motion. "Your client stays in prison," she all but spits. Liam and Dylan look stunned.
