Beth and Liam start their day with a little naughty talk about bagels and all the hot sex the night before, but it's all done in a disappointingly wholesome-sounding way. Maybe this show was just too cutesy and clean to survive. They walk into the break room. A rep from a small bourbon company has brought samples for Rowdy to try in his "official capacity as senior festivities coordinator" for the firm's annual charity shindig. He hands Beth and Liam invitations to the event, which is being held at Cliff and Susan's fabulous house. Attendance is mandatory. They follow him down the hall to one of the offices where he hands out invites to Addy, Malcolm and Dylan. They look the invites over and note they get to bring a date. Rowdy warns them that it shouldn't be anyone who would tarnish the firm's "sober reputation." He then gets a text and dashes off in an orgasmic tizzy, muttering rapturously, "Hallelujah, the vodka boy is here!" Oh, Rowdy, I'll miss you most of all. Liam assumes he'll be taking Beth as his date but she just smirks at him and leaves the room. Title card.
Dylan and Beth meet with their new client, a teenage boy named Charlie. Dylan asks, "Had you ever taken a nude photo before?" He's aghast. Of course not! He and his girlfriend had just been to a concert and wanted something to remember the night by. Next time, buy T-shirts, dude. Because the girl is 16, the DA considers it child porn. Charlie tries to reassure his parents that it's no big deal. Beth says a teacher at his school claimed Charlie was showing the picture around. Charlie denies it; the teacher only saw the pic after he confiscated the phone. Charlie's parents think this is all just a stupid mistake, but Dylan says that since the phone was turned over to the police, Charlie could face 20 years in jail and a label as a sex offender. It finally starts sinking in.
Susan and Cliff are at a therapist's office. Susan feels tricked and deceived and doesn't believe anything Cliff says anymore. Cliff wants to just move past everything, which ticks off both Susan and the therapist. Cliff asks, "What can I do to make it better?" Susan tells him she needs to learn to trust him again and he needs to help her. He thinks that over.
Mia and Connor Smith are at the firm, meeting with Hart, Malcolm and Addy. Mia was hit by a bus when she was riding her bike and now she's wheelchair-bound. Witnesses say the bus driver didn't signal. He pulled into traffic, hit Mia, and kept going. Connor (the delectable Kevin Alejandro) says Mia dragged herself out of the street, with her pelvis shattered and her back broken. Malcolm discusses possible settlement options. Mia and Connor are broke, living on his income alone, and trying to pay for her ongoing therapy. Hart and the associates start to formulate a plan to take to the bus company. Later, Addy is showing off her engagement ring to the other associates. They tease her about Jason not going down on one knee to propose. In the middle of this, Addy reveals that she doesn't want to go to the party, partly because Jason doesn't like all that fancy stuff. When the others press her about this, she makes some excuse about a conference call and leaves. Liam starts to ask Beth to go with him, but she cuts him off by asking Dylan, who readily accepts. Beth leaves the office and Liam trails her. She explains that it's a smart move because going with Dylan is just a work association. Going with Liam is romantic, and office romances are considered "poison" in law firms. Liam tries unsuccessfully to get her goat by announcing at full volume that a "prime hunk of Australian beefcake" is available to the ladies. Even he doesn't really seem to buy his line of bull.
