Mary Alice tells us that it begins just after sunrise: People leave their homes to go work. They do this so they can provide a better life for their families (Susan in a classroom). So they can afford nice things (Carlos in an office). And have a reason to get up in the morning (Tom at Scavo's). And when their exhausting work is done, people come back home again. And some begin counting the days until their next vacation. Creepy Dave goes into his garage and grabs a gun that he's apparently planning on taking on his camping trip, which we won't get to see for several weeks.
