Back in Deb's room, Anton's tucking her back in bed. He says he's sorry he wasn't there, and Deb, agitated with guilt, tells him to stop apologizing. Deb finally just says it right out: She slept with Lundy. To Anton's credit, he appears to be totally shocked. "I thought you were happy," he says. So did she. "I can move out," she says, her face turned away from his, but Anton says he'll see her through this. She did the same for him. Deb bristles at the suggestion, saying Anton deserves so much better. Anton finally lays it out for her: Does she want him to stick around or no? Deb: "I'm sorry to hurt you." And there's his answer. He gives her one disappointed look before stomping (fairly justifiably) out of her room, silently past Dexter and Rita.
At the station, Angel brings LaGuerta a coffee, as she's just given Lundy's daughter the terrible news over the phone. Angel motions out into the bullpen and bristles that Lieutenant (Captain? High Chancellor?) Matthews has decided to return from Season 2 and oversee the Lundy investigation. LaGuerta tells Angel she informed the brass about their relationship. Angel's pissed that she made the call when she knew he didn't want to and storms out. While Matthews goes in to talk to LaGuerta, Masuka and Quinn brief Angel, though they don't really have anything. Angel tells them he planted a story with "Quinn's girlfriend" (Quinn feebly tries to object to that term) about Johnny Rose's syphilis. He figures maybe this will be news to Nikki Wald, Rose's girlfriend/accomplice, and he can get them to turn on each other.
Dexter's back at his apartment, his voice-over reminding us of his resolve to find Deb's shooter. "Is this a new page of the Code?" he muses. "Revenge?" After last week's family-killing cop, it does seem that emotions are figuring more and more into Dexter's murdering choices. Inside, Dex mourns the loss of his secret apartment, which his VO tells us was "the only thing" keeping El Darko Passengero a secret. Deb calls him and tells him they're releasing her from the hospital tomorrow. He promises to pick her up and says she can stay at his place, in light of the Anton breakup she doesn't want to discuss. She asks if Rita will mind. "Don't worry, Deb," Dexter says, fingering Lundy's mini-cassettes. "I'll take care of everything."
