Dexter is doing research on Teegan in the station. He knows, from having seen it at Freebo's place I presume, that she drove a Volkswagen Rabbit. He enters her first name and the car into a search engine and gets an address. He wonders how many parents give their kid a name like "Teegan." The answer is 4. He finally spots our dead Teegan's license and sees that she had an address on Sorority Row. He says he guesses he knows what he'll be doing that evening. First though, he wants to think about names. He doesn't like Teegan, though Megan and Mary strike him as nice names. For boys, he's thinking Charles, Philip, Richard, or...Dexter Jr. We enter a dream sequence with Dexter standing outside of a hospital nursery. Harry is holding a baby and a combination rattler and syringe. He looks at Dex and says, "He reminds me of you, Dex." He VO's that Harry is the last person he'd go to for advice on raising children.
He doesn't want to think about Harry though, he needs to focus on killing Freebo. Miguel sees him in the parking lot and calls to him. He VO's that he was hoping to rifle through Teegan's apartment instead of talking to Miguel. He thanks Dex for coming to Oscar's wake. He invites Dexter and Rita to his house for dinner. Seriously, he can kill enough people to populate a city the size of a suburb of St. Louis, but he can't get out of dinner plans?
That night, Deb goes to a club where people are dancing to Latin music. She sits at the bar and is soon joined by Quinn's informant, Anton, from the last episode. She tells him that she needs help with her Jane Doe case. He seems kind of annoyed that she's coming to him and reminds her that his debt is with Quinn, not her. She corrects him -- his debt is with the department. Wrong again -- he says he's not an "information ATM." Then, he walks away. She calls out after him -- she 's desperate. "I got a steaming heap of crap all on this case. I've gone through every scum-sucking ball sack of a pimp I know, every whacked out hooker. You are my last ditch ass-fucked effort." He comes back and says, "Damn, you got a mouth on you, woman." And, that folks, is the beginning of love. I predict big things for these two. She shows him the picture of Teegan -- he doesn't recognize her from the neighborhood, but says that, from the way she looks, he doubts she paid for her habit. She was a "strawberry," a girl who gets drugs in exchange for sex. And, a "mango" is someone that uses the same technique to get free magazines. I'm not proud of it, but I have an addiction. So, he's got nothing and Deb's just sort of staring at him. These two really have neat sweaty chemistry. I like it. He tells her that he'll ask around for her. She said she appreciates his help and he tells her to work out some of her tension on the dance floor. She says it smells like armpits in there and she has a lot of work to do. He reminds her that there's more to life than policing and she responds, "So I've heard." I really wanted to see them dance.
