...while in the hotel, Colin Hanks wakes up as if from a nightmare, goes into the bathroom, and is horrified to discover that the words "Bring The False Prophet To The Church" are written therein in blood. I mean, I'm starting to be impressed that the show keeps finding new ways not to make sense, but obviously we're being told in no uncertain terms that Colin Hanks has no idea that he's Tyler Durden. But does he not question the idea that EJO could have located him, entered his presumably-locked hotel room, and carried out this errand without waking him up? And how does he account for losing so much time? Does he just not notice? Anyway, Casey's severed hand is in the sink, and I'm not sure what the Biblical significance is there, but the charge for cleaning this place is just getting steeper.
Not surprisingly after the incidents of the morning, Deb's back with Saint Therapist, who gets a little more familial information, particularly that Dexter was adopted and was biological brothers with the Ice Truck Killer, and also that Harry and Dexter did everything together while Deb was left behind. Saint Therapist then leans forward and tells Deb that in order to heal, she's going to have to take responsibility for the fact that she has a history of choosing inappropriate or unavailable men. Deb, unsurprisingly, isn't so enamored of that characterization (and I will say it seems a bit unfair to blame her for the Ice Truck Killer, who said all the right things while specifically targeting her), but Saint Therapist's broader point, that she needs to break her patterns if she wants her life to change, is well-taken, and Deb looks like this might be striking a chord. THANK GOD.
