...but for now, he's being friendly and conciliatory and while it's not having much effect on Hannah, his presence generally is definitely pushing her buttons. Dexter plays the audience surrogate as "Clint" explains that he just got out of prison (he says it's for some check scam) and wants to atone for being such a horrible father. Hannah asks if they could possibly not involve Dexter in this conversation, but Clint tells her that if they're together, he'd like him to hear it and goes on that he worked a lot with the prison counselor and learned he needs to take responsibility for his past actions. He goes on that he doesn't expect her forgiveness, but it's important to him that she know he always loved her and always will. Dexter, long practiced at the art of smelling people's bullshit, appears vaguely disapproving (but not necessarily disbelieving), while Hannah just kind of looks like she wishes this weren't happening. Neither of them speaks, so eventually Clint continues that he's got something in his truck for her and if he can just give it to her, he'll be on his way...
