Jeremy characteristically apologizes to Nick on the way out, and when he's gone, Tripp says he supposes Nick thinks this is all his fault. He sounds mildly dismissive, but Nick refuses to be intimidated, saying he does find it puzzling that Tripp can accuse Jeremy of being irresponsible when he declines to be responsible with him. Tripp tells Nick that the situation is between Jeremy and him, but Nick again won't back down, as he evenly says that part of his job is to provide Tripp with advice. "It's wrong what you're doing to him, Tripp -- you're trying to scare him into being who you want him to be." He brings it around to the money theme, but justifiably here, asking if its purpose is just to scare and control people. Less justifiable is his ripping off Elder in saying that Tripp's losing Jeremy one day at a time. Nick, you were doing so well -- you don't have to rely on some Svengali who takes you to Russian restaurants that aren't really Russian and may or may not have had an affair with and/or killed your father. Nonetheless, Tripp looks moved as Nick bids him goodnight.
Juliet and Jeremy are on the terrace watching the sunrise, and Juliet is talking about how terrible an idea it would be for Natalie to be a mother. Probably true, and yet I think this is an overly self-involved and contraindicated topic for Juliet to bring up at this point, not that that's out of character for her. I think Jeremy agrees, because he changes the subject and asks what he should do about Tripp. Juliet turns to him and much more kindly says he should just apologize, and goes on to say that she's not getting her trust for five years either, and she told Tripp that was fine. "I threw a party for a million dollars last night, and I had the worst time ever. I can wait." Jeremy wonders if their lives would be better if they weren't so stinking rich, but Juliet tells him that she thinks he's spectacular, and he's going to do spectacular things. I thought him singing in his boxers was pretty spectacular, just for the record (again). They put their arms around each other. Aw.
