Back at the hotel, Patrick and Ellen hear a knock on the door. Patrick hesitates, so Ellen walks over to answer it. She seems the picture of confidence until she answers the door to find Carmelita on the other side. Carmelita tells Ellen that she's heard a lot about her, and Carmelita responds, "I wish I could say the same." Ellen welcomes her in, and Carmelita hands Patrick her coat. Patrick looks awkward. Incidentally, this was where my brother paused the TV to ask, "So was Cheryl Hines able to shoot this and the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm at the same time, or...?" Then we all laughed, and ate a bunch of turkey.

Ellen, Patrick, and Carmelita sit as far away from one another as humanly possible without one of them ending up in the netherworld known as Brooklyn. Ellen and Carmelita sit in chairs at opposite sides of a long table, Patrick looking shell-shocked on the sofa in between them. Ellen lays out her strategic plan to Carmelita: "You can have one Saturday night a month, but the rest of the weekends are ours; you can have one Tuesday or Wednesday night every other week to do whatever it is that the two of you do, as long as he is home in time to put the kids to bed before he does it." Carmelita notes that that is less than she gets him now, so what possible incentive could there be? Ellen says that it's because, basically, it's this or nothing. Patrick tries to butt in, and his two girlfriends suggest his time is better spent elsewhere. As Patrick takes his leave of the room, Ellen continues her hard-line negotiation: Patrick is also expected to be at all family events, and clearly all campaign events are off-limits to Carmelita. Carmelita counters that if she doesn't get Patrick for two nights every week, he's going to end up sneaking out to see her. "And neither one of us wants that, do we?" The scene ends, and we must imagine that, failing to reach a mutually beneficial negotiation, the Transgender Girlfriends Union (TGA) took their members out on strike and spent time picketing on the sidewalk until her demands for two days a week and digital download residuals are adequately met.
