Ooooer, because Rose is joking as they enter: "Bit rich coming from you." See, the Doctor hates hospitals, they give him the creeps, but he's a Doctor. Rose looks around at the awesome hospital: "Very smart. Not exactly NHS," but the Doctor is pissed because there's no "little shop." Which is funny, because actually the gift shop is the creepiest part of any hospital, but he's an alien. Who knows. Rose wonders aloud how come people still get sick this far in the future, and the Doctor says that the viruses keep moving just as fast as the human race does: "It's an ongoing war." A cat nurse walks by and nods politely to Rose, who stares at her; she points after the nurse: "They're cats!" The Doctor tells her not to stare: "Think what you look like to them, all pink and yellow." He points over Rose's shoulder at where he'd put the awful little shop, and then boards an elevator for Ward 26. Chip overrides the elevators; Rose comes running but misses the doors, which shut between her and the Doctor. They have a conversation through the door just like last time, twenty-three years ago, and Rose grabs another elevator. "Watch out for the disinfectant," the Doctor tries -- and fails -- to warn her.
