Can't Sleep. Cupboard Will Eat Me.

Back in the apartment, the Doctor decides to pop into the kitchen to make some tea. Alex is pissed at the Doctor's irresponsible behavior and wants him to leave, but the Doctor remains steadfast. He explains calmly that he came a very long way in response to George's distress call. "Whatever's inside that cupboard is so terrible, so powerful, that it amplified the fears of an ordinary little boy across all the barriers of time and space." He goes on to wax poetic about space and the reality of monsters while Alex gently loses his mind. "You're not from Social Services, are you?" he asks.

Mrs. Rossiter, formerly of the garbage heap, wanders around the mystery house, mewling for help. Something giggles and moves through the shadows near her. Elsewhere in the house, Amy and Rory wander around some more. The giggling intensifies. They follow the sound to a door, open it and scream at the sight child-sized figure with a crumbling wooden head and long, tangled hair. Amy laughs with relief. "It's just a dummy," she says. All the more reason to smash it into a thousand pieces! Consign it to the fiery pits of hell! Alas, Amy and Rory are not as immediately hateful of dolls as I am and walk away. Naturally, the thing starts to move.

In the apartment, the Doctor and Alex have their tea while the Doctor frets over the family photo album. Something about it bothers him, but he doesn't know what just yet. The Doctor goes back and forth and back and forth about whether or not to open the cupboard. Finally, he talks himself into it. Meanwhile, little George has been in there with the damnable thing the whole time.

Let's go watch the assy landlord watch TV for a while, why don't we? He talks to himself (and his dog) about the lack of viewing options. This goes on for what seems like a long time before he finally gets up in search of a movie. The moment he steps onto the carpet, the floor goes wobbly and sucks him in like quicksand. "Help me," he says to the dog before he disappears completely. The dog is unmoved by his pleas.

In George's room, the Doctor is taking a very long time moving towards the cupboard. Alex and George stand behind him, breathing hard. Finally the Doctor throws the door open. Everyone gasps then realizes nothing looks especially weird. There are some clothes, some games... a dollhouse. Perplexed, the Doctor fetches the photo album. Right in front of George, they proceed to have a discussion that leads to Alex realizing he doesn't remember the day his son was born. He suddenly begins to remember that his wife couldn't have babies. "How could I have forgotten that?" he whispers. He and the Doctor turn slowly to look at George, who blink-blinks up at them. "Who are you, George?" the Doctor asks. George hears the elevator, panics and Poltergeists Alex and the Doctor into the cupboard in an explosion of light and wind. "Please save me from the monsters," the boy begins to chant.
