The Beast burns.
"I shall never die! The thought of me is forever! In the bleeding hearts of men, in their vanity and obsession and lust..." Rose picks up the bolt gun again. Aims it at him, and past him. "Nothing shall ever destroy me. Nothing!" She fires: "Go to Hell." She's been. She'll go again. The glass shatters like a mirror. She undoes Toby's seatbelt, and he goes out into space, sucked through the window, straight for the black hole. He roars in His fear and anger; he is still beautiful. Zach activates the emergency shield (while sciencing "Emergency shield!" for completeness' sake), and the gap is covered. They're safe, except for how they're headed into the black hole still. Zach mentions this fact, but Rose is stuck in her narrative: "But we stopped him. That's what the Doctor would've done." Some victory, Zach notes. "We're going in." And down they go.
The Beast burns, screaming. Pulling at his chains.
Danny watches the planet fall.
The Ood fall this way and that, in the corridors of Sanctuary.
Ida falls down unconscious. No air.
The Doctor runs back down the tunnel, away from the Beast, but a blast of air knocks him back. Into blue. He laughs, overjoyed to see her. As though she'd be anywhere else.
"The planet's gone," Danny reports. "I'm sorry." Zach accelerates away, noting again the Ida of it all: "First human beings to fall inside a black hole. How about that? History." Ida is history. Rose closes her eyes; everybody holds on tight. They make ready for impact. And then it stops. Things go quiet. The rocket begins to turn. The comms spring back to life. "Sorry about the hijack, captain. This is the good ship TARDIS." Rose comes back to life; eyes open and awake and alive, alight. This was Hell? "Now, first things first; have you got a Rose Tyler on board?" She shouts out to him, calls to him. "Oh, my God!" she shouts, giddy. She puts a hand across her smile. "Where are you?" Right where he needs to be. "I'm just towing you home. Gravity-schmavity. My people practically invented black holes." (True. Good and bad.) "In a couple of minutes, we'll be nice and safe. Oh, and captain -- can we do a swap? Say, if you give me Rose Tyler, I'll give you Ida Scott? How about that?" AWESOME! I forgot! I thought she died! "Bit of oxygen starvation, but she should be all right." He's quieter for the next ones. "Couldn't save the Ood. I only had time for one trip. They went down with the planet." Slave race. They enter clear space, the Doctor in his TARDIS and Rose behind him in the cute little rocket, bruised and bumped. She's proud of him. He's not whom she should be proud of, but that's Companioning.
