The viking takes him to a tomb where the Headless Monks keep their "leftovers." Moldy skulls line the walls and floors by the thousands. "Watch your step; there are traps everywhere," says the viking. something scratches along the floor. "I hate rats," says the Doctor. "There are no rats here," says the viking. "The skulls eat them." The skulls turn to watch them, their meatless jaws scratching along the stone. The heads of the rich are kept in nice boxes on pedestals and Dorium, as the viking points out, was always very rich. As the Doctor opens Dorium's box and peers at his fresh and plump blue face, the viking pulls out a gun. He's pissed at the Doctor for beating him at chess. In his quest for revenge, he unwittingly activates one of the tomb's traps and falls trough a hole in the floor, right into the waiting jaws of many, many skulls. It's like a ball pit at a five-year-old's birthday party, but possibly even more disgusting. All the ruckus wakes Dorium.
At this point, Winston Churchill interrupts. He's having a hard time believing everything his "soothsayer" is telling him. The Doctor points out that they're friends in another universe. "You sense that, just like you sense there's something wrong with time," he says. Winston is eager to hear more about the woman the Doctor mentioned, but he's still working his way up to her.
His tale continues in the tomb, where Dorium is telling him that it's not so bad being a head in a box. "I got a media chip fitted in my head years ago and the Wi-Fi down here is excellent," he says. They're using chips and Wi-Fi on futuristic alien worlds? Seems like it should be something fancier, like angels fart the music at you. They get around to the topic of the Silence. Dorium says they like to call themselves the "sentinels of history." They want the Doctor dead because of some future danger that they think must be averted. "On the fields of Trenzalore, the fall of the Eleventh, when no living creature can speak falsely or fail to answer, a question will be asked," Dorium says. "A question that must never, ever be answered." It's that whole "question hidden in plain sight" thing. "Would you like to know what it is?" Dorium asks. The Doctor answers very confidently that he would, but all the skulls look at him and he starts to lose his nerve.
