In her bedroom, Chloe draws the TARDIS.

The Doctor and Rose come out as he's describing the pod: "About two inches across, dull grey, like a gull's egg...very light."

Chloe draws the Doctor.

"So these pods, they travel from sun to sun using heat? So it's not all about love and stuff. Doesn't the pod just need heat?" There's a crash, and Rose turns to see their device in pieces. The TARDIS and the Doctor have vanished.

Rose wigs, and frantically runs to Trish's house. When Trish opens the door, Rose barges past her, up the stairs. Trish calls out after her that it's okay: "I've taken all the pencils off her!" I do think Trish is a good mom, I think she does the best she can. Rose grabs the paper away from Chloe, staring down at the TARDIS and Doctor, stricken. Chloe wigs with the Isolus voice. "Leave me alone! I want to be with Chloe Webber! I love Chloe Webber!" Rose gets hardcore with her: "Bring him back. Now." Chloe refuses, and Rose gets a massive headache. She turns away, and then spins back, grabbing the girl roughly by the shoulders. Not attractive. "Don't you realize what you've done? He was the only one who could help you -- now bring him back!" Chloe begs to be left alone, shouting that she loves Chloe Webber. Rose's face immediately softens and she lets go as Trish watches, worried. "I know," says Rose gently, standing. "I know." She addresses the drawing: "Doctor, if you can hear me, I'm gonna get you out of there. I'll find the pod." She tells Trish again not to leave Chloe alone, and takes off; the Torch Bearer turns east along the embankment, coming closer.

Kel admires his work in the road as Rose approaches: "Kel, was there anything in this street in the last few days giving off a lot of heat?" He doesn't really listen, going on and on about his road job. "You tell me why the other one's got a lump in it when I gave it the same love and craftsmanship I did this one!" She tells him that when he works it out he can put it in a big book about tarmacking -- funniest line in the episode -- but before he does that, could he please think back six days? Yes. That was when he was doing the street the first time around: "That's when I filled in this pothole for the first time." She deduces quite loudly what's been obvious since the second scene, and still his ass is talking about road tar. She grabs a pickaxe and starts ripping up the road, he screams, this goes on forever, finally Rose comes up with the pod. "You just took a council axe, from a council van, and now you're digging up a council road! I'm reporting you to the council! What is it?" She smiles, overjoyed. "It's a spaceship! Not a council spaceship, I'm afraid..."
