The Naked Time

As they munch on inappropriate starches, Adelle, lying on the floor, tells an enthralled Topher that while she's aware there are forces beyond their control, they still have to make choices and live with them. She confesses that she knows why Echo went to Fremont, and when Topher asks if it was to punish her, she demurs, saying it was to let Caroline punish her. This is an unfortunate time to mention that name, as it turns out, because Mellie has risen from the chair and is seemingly remembering her imprint, as she cries and, obviously addressing Ballard, asks, "Is she what you think about when you're on me?" Adelle and Topher give each other the most amazingly hilarious side-eyes in reaction to that question, and if these two want to have their own spinoff I know at least one person who'd watch it. Mellie cries and freaks out some more, prompting Adelle to note to Topher that he said the drug wouldn't affect Dolls, but he clarifies that she's not tripping -- "she's glitching. She's remembering." And that's unfortunate, because Mellie suddenly straightens and slowly starts walking toward them. Topher recoils as she flashes back to the attack, and then recites, "There are three flowers in a vase," even pronouncing the last word as Adelle did, and Adelle's "Oh, bollocks" look is a thing of beauty to behold.

Back in the past at the other couple's apartment, Caroline excitedly lays out building plans as she tells the group how she just committed bribery in the name of PETA, or something, and the upshot is that there's a way into the lab that doesn't involve using the front door. Leo, however, gets A Look, and when Caroline asks him what's up, he says that Rossum is a huge company, and the whole situation just got, as Angela Chase would say, a little too actual for him. Caroline doesn't want to hear that, though, and Leo comes around. Still no mention of the friends going along for the ride, but at least they invited Caroline and Leo over for dinner again, I guess.

Back in the present, Sam is getting skeptical, as they're nowhere near the Rossum building, but just then they come across a storm drain with the Lily Foundry name on it. Luckily, they don't run into Pennywise The Dancing Clown inside, instead finding a red pipe that Echo says leads to the lab. She wonders how it's possible to "not remember something and remember it at the same time," and all I can say is that Topher apparently doesn't think Colby girls drink a whole lot. Sam tells Echo that when they get inside, they need to look for proof that Rossum is responsible for the drug mess, and then they head up a ladder...
