...which is news that Adelle hears and opines to Topher is "unbelievable." Topher: "What part was believable before?" The man has a point. She tells him what's going on with Laurence and points out that this means the drug isn't being sold, and Topher is sure Laurence didn't knowingly take any: "There's no way Dom would consciously try and have fun!" They quickly come to the conclusion that the drug can be spread person-to-person, by touch or by air, although the effects would occur slowly, and I find this particular bit dubious at best but that is really not a complaint, particularly given what's about to happen here. The important thing is that Topher touches Adelle's wrist before she impatiently asks if he's making any progress, and he defensively responds by asking what she's doing other than standing around being all..."Sarcastic?" Adelle inquires. That's not it, so she tries again: "Unfeeling? British?" Insert your own joke about synonyms here. Topher says he's thinking of an animal, to which Adelle replies, "Still, you have to admit, I am...very...British. I don't say...haaahd R's." That is my single favorite line of the series to date, and if you can watch this scene without laughing nonstop, I submit to you that you ah not a normal puhson. They then babble about brown sauce for a while until Adelle offers another doozy: "Oh my God. I find lentils completely incomprehensible." If at least one of the writers of this episode hasn't taken a psychedelic drug at some point, I will be very impressed. Topher giggles, and they then discuss the fact that Echo showed up at Fremont, which has nothing to do with the drug. Topher adds that this means their problems are "huge and indomitable," and Adelle brightens: "I could eat that word!" Topher flaps his lips as if to say, "Who couldn't?" and then, when Adelle asks if he has any crisps, excitedly talks about his "Drawer of Inappropriate Starches." Adelle whines about her day, so Topher puts a comforting hand on her shoulder, and Fox will surely be heartened to know that I will never forget this episode, given that I've already watched that scene a dozen times.
