When we return, Echo has gotten a now-unconscious Laurence to the infirmary, and Adelle, upon learning what he told Echo, orders an evacuation, and in preparation, every Active is to be restored to his or her original personality and then freed. "I'm not leaving behind a house full of helpless creatures." Too bad they can't borrow Alpha's gadget to turn them into tunnel-vision ninjas. Topher asks where they're going, and Adelle tells him, obviously, they're heading for Tucson...
...which sends us back into the past. Caroline and Bennett have successfully infiltrated Rossum, and Bennett makes sure that they're in this together. Caroline's like, "Until the end," and if there's a lesson she's learned I hope it's to anticipate and declare all relevant disclaimers. Bennett enters an office to set up her tech station to track Caroline while Caroline heads off to...well, blow shit up. She gets to the appointed location and plants a bunch of charges with ten minutes on the clock and everything's just going smashingly...until she discovers a lab that's not on the floor plans Bennett presumably gave her. Bennett cautions her that they don't have time for her to investigate, but Caroline predictably ignores her and uses a rope to climb down into the secret space. Therein, she finds a bunch of human specimens, some on gurneys and some upright in tanks. Of course, she at first thinks they're cadavers, and since it would be hard for anyone who's not completely twisted to think they'd be anything else, she can be forgiven for freaking out when one of the guys in the tanks suddenly opens his eyes and starts singing opera at her. She frantically tells Bennett they have to abort the mission, but Bennett informs her that's impossible -- the charges can't be reset. Caroline says she's going to pull the detonator caps off manually, and then one of the proto-Dolls or whatever grabs her and begs her to help him, and this all has some super-creepy commonalities with that scene in Aliens where they discover all the cocooned humans. You know, without all the goo. Caroline screams for Bennett to get out of the building, but Bennett won't leave her, and as Caroline finally frees herself from the zombie's grasp and heads for the exit, the timers reach zero, and that was closer to two minutes than ten, but I'll admit I didn't exactly want to sit around for eight minutes with nothing happening.
